Bike Trip 2017 – The Canada 150

Trip Summary Blog Post

To celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday and break in my new Honda Africa Twin CRF1000L motorcycle, I’ll be riding from Calgary to PEI, back to Calgary (rest) to Telegraph Creek, and possibly to the Arctic Ocean (Dempster Highway – or at least into the NWT).

My goal is to visit all provinces and territories in one cross-country journey across Canada. I can hopefully sneak across into Nunavut for a day (cheating) at James Bay. I’m also interested in taking some of Canada’s least traveled and remote roads – the Trans-Taiga (QC), the Route Nord (QC), the Trans-Labrador (NL), and possibly into the far north with the road to Telegraph Creek and Dempster Highway (again).

This will be my longest journey to date (approximately 20,000 kilometres). This trip will be: the most time riding, the most kilometres, and a great opportunity to see as much of Canada as possible in one trip.
