Chilcotin Adventure – Summer Trip 2018 – Chilcotin, BC to Hyder, Alaska
Summer journey to the north again. This will be a great excuse to camp, see new parts of BC and hang out with five really good buddies for a ten day ride.
This ride is ‘short’ in comparison with last summer’s 15,000 kilometres across Canada to PEI. It will also allow visiting some small First Nations/Indigenous towns and basically stay away from the hustle and flow of the cities (except a brief stop outside of Vancouver at Bowen Island and Prince George).
Camp out in the intereior of BC on the way, camping in the Chilcotin area, small cabins in Bella Coola (bears and lots of them), B&B in Gingolx (bears and lots of them), and rustic recovered buildings on the main street of Stewart, BC (more bears and lots of them).
Everything is booked. Bike and gear are virtually ready (already, I know I’m a bit excited). I am even testing some gear for Moto Bags – Lone Rider (new hybrid soft/hard panniers). Several thousand messages back and forth between riding buddies on Facebook to plan. Sounds like we’re ready. I can’t wait for summer. 🙂
