finally the weather here has cooperated and i was able to go for a spin through southern alberta.
a few riders, 13 to be exact, from the vfrdiscussion group met and went on a ride from calgary on the 1A highway through highway 40 through the highwood pass on it’s opening weekend. great to meet some of the faces and names from the site in person and see all their cool bikes. great riders and great guys.
the ride is 350kms return, which is a good day out. stopped for lunchy mc lunch in turner valley, great little cafe right on the main drag.
it’s fun when like-minded people get together online, but even better when they have common interests when they meet in person.
i joined the group a few years ago when searching around for information about my old motorcycle. never thought it would lead to people organizing a ride together.
now i’m preparing for the next road-trips – july to nelson, british columbia and august to newport, oregon and possibly the california coast.
